2009-2010 RAMP STUDY GROUP
Calling upon all counselors ready for a new endeavor!
A year ago, the AzSCA Inc. Implementation Committee drafted the ASCA Implementation Guide for Arizona School Counselors. Now, AzSCA Inc. is providing a service to work with schools that are ready to align their school counseling program to the ASCA National Model and/or receive RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) recognition. Therefore, we are interested in reviewing applications from schools that are ready to take their counseling program to new heights. Some of the benefits of participating in this study group are:
- Study groups will meet monthly to maintain action plan and receive support
- Each study group will have an assigned RAMP mentor to assist with the process
- Each participating counselor will receive a free ASCA Implementation Guide for Arizona School Counselors
- The AzSCA Research Committee is willing to assist the study groups with the data collection and disaggregation process
- Your counseling program will be RAMP-ready within a maximum of a three year period
- Participating counselors will receive increment recertification credit (total hours will depend on the amount of time spent with the mentor and program)
- Scholarship funds available for RAMP application fee ($150.00)
This past school year Arizona had four schools receive RAMP. Each school was recognized at an Arizona Department of Education board meeting, at the AzSCA Annual Conference and at ASCA National Conference. Receiving the RAMP award shows schools, communities, and state stakeholders how counseling programs make a positive and lasting impact on the academic achievement of students.
